The Taylor &amp; Francis group reported on a study that suggests that the answer is yes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Individuals who think that television portrayals of romance are realistic are less likely to be committed to their own relationships.<\/li>\n<li>This also affected how they viewed the &#8216;cost&#8217; \u2013 or the lost time and freedom \u2013 of the relationship.
